Petrified Forest

The Petrified Forest National Park is located between Holbrook, Arizona, and Gallop, New Mexico, just off of Interstate 40. The park covers over 93,000 acres and features one of the world’s most concentrated collections of petrified wood. Remember that it is illegal to remove or pickup any of the petrified wood while visiting the park no matter how tempting it may be. Samples of petrified wood can be purchased at tourist stops from samples gathered outside of the park.
