Montezuma's Castle

The five-story dwelling known as Montezuma’s Castle was mistakenly thought to be part of the Aztec Empire by the first European discoverers. In fact it is dwelling built by the ancient Sinagua Indians. The structure is built in an alcove of a cliff above Beaver Creek. It is believed to have been constructed sometime in the twelfth century.
